Rasuwa: A minister in the Bagmati Province government has announced that interest-free loans will be provided to citizens in rural areas to encourage livestock rearing. Addressing the 10th District Assembly of the District Coordination Committee, Rasuwa, on Monday, Bagmati Province Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Prabhat Tamang said the loans will be available for purchasing two buffaloes per household to support local livelihoods.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Tamang also mentioned that the government is prepared to assist communities in establishing dairy enterprises and managing fodder and fertiliser supplies. This initiative aims to boost the local economy by enhancing the agricultural and livestock sectors in rural areas.
During the programme, concerns were raised about the lack of progress review for the Galchhi-Trishuli-Mailung-Syafrubesi-Rasuwa road improvement project. Chief District Officer Rajesh Panthi highlighted the frequent occurrence of natural disasters in the district and stressed the importance of cooperation and vigilance from all stakeholders to manage these risks effectively.
The programme was presided over by District Coordination Committee Chief Ashok Kumar Ghimire, who acknowledged the challenges faced by the district and reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing these issues through collaborative efforts.
