Kathmandu: Pokhara Avengers has faced a victory target of 121 runs in the second match of the ongoing second edition of Nepal Premier League (NPL).
According to National News Agency Nepal, in the match played at Kirtipur-based TU International Cricket Ground, Chitwan Rhinos set a target of 121 runs for the rival Pokhara Avengers. Chitwan chose to bat first after winning the toss and made 120 runs in 20 overs, losing six wickets in the process.
Dev Khanal was the top scorer for Chitwan Rhinos with 35 runs, followed by Alpesh Ramjani who contributed 33 runs to the team’s total. On the bowling front, Dhananjaya Lakshan from Pokhara Avengers took three wickets, showing remarkable performance against Chitwan Rhinos.
Today’s match held significance for both Chitwan and Pokhara as a matter of prestige, since both teams have already been eliminated from the playoffs. So far, both teams have accumulated four points each from six matches in the ongoing series.
Earlier in the day, in the first match, team Biratnagar emerged victorious over team Sudurpaschim by six wickets.
