Kathmandu: Acting President of the Nepali Congress, Purna Bahadur Khadka, emphasized the necessity of both the general convention and general election to resolve the political uncertainty currently facing the country. He made these remarks while addressing the first general convention of the association of private school teachers and staff.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Acting President Khadka called on party cadres to actively participate in election activities, highlighting that the Nepali Congress had already initiated preparations for the elections. He expressed confidence that the party could achieve the desired outcome in the upcoming House of Representatives election if it successfully conducts its general convention.
During the convention, a 45-member central working committee was elected unopposed, with Bhola Nath Chalise serving as the chairman. Other elected members include Sudip Bartaula as the senior vice-chairperson, Dharma Raj Joshi as the general secretary, and Rajendra Gautam as the treasurer.
Additionally, Sujata Karki and Dev Kanta Yadav were elected as deputy general-secretaries of the committee. The association functions as a supportive organization of the Nepali Congress.
