Health Minister Gautam Calls for Advancement of Naradevi Ayurveda Hospital


Kathmandu: Minister for Health and Population, Dr. Sudha Gautam, has emphasized the need to develop Naradevi Ayurveda Hospital into a central Ayurveda facility. During her visit to the hospital, she articulated the vision of transforming the hospital into a referral center for Ayurvedic treatments across the nation.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Dr. Gautam highlighted the government’s commitment to modernizing Ayurveda hospitals, aiming to equip them with advanced facilities and integrate Yoga and meditation practices into Ayurveda treatments. She emphasized the hospital’s role in promoting public awareness about healthy lifestyles, diets, and behaviors.



Dr. Gautam also acknowledged the need for improvements in the health insurance program and committed to ensuring coverage for Ayurveda treatments within these schemes. During her visit, the hospital director, Dr. Basudev Upadhyay, provided the Minister with an overview of the hospital’s services and its workforce.



Founded in 1974 BS, Naradevi Ayurveda Hospital has grown into a 100-bed facility offering 24-hour nursing care, specialized Ayurveda, and alternative medical treatments, along with free distribution of medicines.
