Kathmandu: President of Nepali Congress (NC), Sher Bahadur Deuba, has declared that the party is prepared to participate in the House of Representatives (HoR) election scheduled for March 5, 2026. This announcement was made during a meeting with Minister for Communications and Technology, Jagadish Kharel, who also serves as the Government Spokesperson. The meeting took place at Deuba’s residence in Maharajgunj.
According to National News Agency Nepal, NC President Deuba emphasized that participating in the upcoming election is the party’s primary focus. He advised the government to create an environment that ensures the election is conducted in a free and impartial manner. Minister Kharel, who is a member of the government political talks committee, conveyed this advice after his meeting with Deuba.
The Minister also plans to meet separately with CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli and Nepali Communist Party (NCP) Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ later today. These meetings are part of ongoing discussions aimed at facilitating a smooth electoral process.
