Private Sector’s Role Pivotal in Enhancing Education Quality: Vice President Yadav


Kathmandu: Vice-President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav has commended that the private sector has played an instrumental role in improving the quality of education in the country. Addressing an event organized during the Higher Institutions and Secondary Schools’ Association Nepal (HISSAN)’s 9th national convention at Budhanilkantha, Vice-President Yadav emphasized that the education system must be made practical, skill-oriented, and linked to employment that aligns with the needs of the current time.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the Vice-President called for collaboration between the government and private sector for the development of the education sector. Reflecting on the impact of the Gen-Z movement that took place on September 8 and 9, he noted that the uprising had brought forth new perspectives and guidance on how to usher the country. He stated that the movement had inspired efforts to make the education system more relevant and timely.



Furthermore, Vice-President Yadav pointed out the need to link the teaching-learning process to practical life rather than limiting it to theoretical knowledge. He also suggested that organizations like HISSAN should contribute to developing curricula that incorporate and respect local culture, values, and identity.



Similarly, HISSAN’s Chairperson Ramesh Kumar Silwal highlighted the crucial role of the private sector in fostering inclusive, quality, and skill-based education. On the occasion, participants, including education experts, private school operators, and representatives from teachers’ associations, acknowledged and praised the significant contributions of HISSAN in the development of the education sector in the country.
