Flood Strikes Kimrung River, Threatening Settlements in Kaski


Kaski: A flood has struck the Kimrung River in Annapurna Rural Municipality-11, Kaski district, endangering nearby settlements. Rural Municipality Chairman Bishnu Bahadur KC reported that the flood occurred in the lower basin area due to a landslide blocking the river in the Kimrung area.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Chairman KC noted that the flood has caused damage to some physical infrastructures at Syauli Bazaar in ward no. 8 of the municipality. Fortunately, there have been no human casualties reported. Residents downstream have been advised to relocate to safer areas as a precautionary measure.



Locals have expressed fear following the flood. Assistant Chief District Officer of Kaski, Chitrangat Baral, mentioned that authorities are currently assessing the situation. Residents have been instructed to remain vigilant given the ongoing risk posed by the disaster.
