Kathmandu: The death toll in the flash floods that struck the Rasuwa district on Wednesday morning has reached 469 as of 7:00 am today, according to the Nepal Police. The catastrophic event has resulted in significant loss of life across several districts, with 12 fatalities recorded in Rasuwa and 37 in Nuwakot.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the disaster has affected multiple areas, including Dhading, where 33 bodies were recovered. Gorkha reported 44 fatalities, while Chitwan witnessed the highest number of deaths, with 178 bodies found.
In Tanahun district, the bodies of 28 individuals were recovered. Additionally, the Nawalparasi Bardaghat Purba district reported 110 deaths, while Nawalparasi Bardaghat Paschim district accounted for 27 fatalities.
The police also reported that 28 Nepal Police personnel remain missing following the disaster, highlighting the ongoing impact of the floods on emergency services and recovery efforts.
