New York:Nepali communities in the United States have provided $226,000 in financial assistance to support survivors of the recent floods in the Bhotekoshi-Trishuli river system.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the funds were handed over to Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal while he was in New York attending the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The assistance was coordinated by the NH Nepali Society, which contributed $120,000, the America Nepal Helping Society, which provided $93,000, and the Gurung Society, which gave $13,000.
Minister Khanal expressed his gratitude to the Nepali diaspora for their solidarity and support during this crisis.
