Pokhara:Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has asserted that the strength of the state is inherently linked to the strength of the private sector. During a meeting with tourism entrepreneurs in Pokhara on Monday, Aryal highlighted the necessity of empowering the private sector to ensure the country’s prosperity.
According to National News Agency RSS, Speaker Aryal emphasized the private sector’s vital role in employment creation and economic development. He noted the current government’s willingness to collaborate closely with private enterprises to achieve these goals.
Aryal also pointed out Nepal’s significant potential in the tourism industry, stressing the importance of enhancing the country’s presence in the global tourism market. He advocated for the incorporation of stakeholder concerns, including those of tourism entrepreneurs, into the legislative process, ensuring that laws are formulated transparently and inclusively.
The government has prioritized tourism development in regions such as Pokhara, Chitwan, and Bardiya, Aryal mentioned. In line with this, a 10-point memorandum focused on sustainable tourism was submitted to Speaker Aryal by the Pokhara Tourism Council.
Council Chairperson Hari Bhujel, who presented the memorandum, requested measures to sustain and improve the Dubai-Pokhara-Dubai flights and initiate international flights by Nepal Airlines from Pokhara International Airport. The memorandum also called for providing labor permits and visa processing for travelers using the airport and suggested converting the Ratna temple at Lakeside into a museum for tourists.
Speaker Aryal assured that he would extend necessary support and coordination to address the entrepreneurs’ demands by engaging with relevant ministers.
