Kathmandu:The Nepal Police has reaffirmed its commitment to its responsibilities and accountability, aligning with government directives, amid circulating false news reports.
According to National News Agency RSS, Nepal Police spokesperson Avi Narayan Kafle issued a press statement on Thursday, urging the public not to be swayed by misleading and baseless news stories. Kafle emphasized that reports linking the Inspector General of Nepal Police, Dan Bahadur Karki, to certain media stories are fabricated and should not be believed.
The statement highlighted that the Nepal Police remains dedicated to fulfilling its constitutional and legal duties without deviation. Kafle asserted that these fabricated stories aim to create confusion regarding the Nepal Police’s image, professionalism, and performance.
Additionally, Kafle warned that investigations and legal actions would be pursued against those attempting to undermine the security agency and drag it into controversy, or those considering actions against the government.
