Bhairahawa:Rupandehi In response to growing concerns over health and lifestyle, free yog and meditation campaigns are rapidly expanding in Rupandehi district. Over 2,000 individuals have participated in these programs, which are held at various locations throughout the district, aiming to raise awareness about physical and mental health.
According to National News Agency RSS, the campaign, initiated by Ganga Karki two years ago, has now reached over a dozen locations, including Butwal, Bhairahawa, Rohinipur, Saljhandi, Devdaha, and Lumbini. Karki emphasizes the importance of yog and meditation in countering health issues arising from unhealthy diets and sedentary lifestyles, aiming to promote a stress-free lifestyle.
Participants of the campaign, comprising women, men, youth, and senior citizens, report benefits such as enhanced physical activity, mental peace, positive thinking, and disciplined lifestyles. Jyoti GC from Omsatiya Rural Municipality-4 noted significant improvements in her health and daily routine, attributing reduced medication for sugar and thyroid issues to regular yog practice.
Vipasyana guru Ganga Prasad Koirala highlighted the positive impact of yog and meditation on physical and mental well-being, advocating for calmness and positivity. Santosh Rayamajhi, a local, mentioned that free Vipasyana meditation is conducted at the Nathumal Giniya Devi Trust in Bhairahawa, with over 2,000 participants joining the programs.
The campaign has not only improved personal health among participants but also encouraged social engagement and community harmony. There is a call for continued support from local authorities, social organizations, and the community to maintain and expand these free programs to include diverse age groups.
