A teenager was killed and another injured in a lightning strike in South Temuhani area of the district town this afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Naeem Hossain, 14, son of Abdul Alim, a resident of Sirajganj district.
Hospital sources said the lightning struck them around 3pm when they were working in a furniture shop. Naeem died on the spot.
The injured was taken to a local hospital.
In-charge of Lakshmipur city police outpost Zahirul Islam confirmed the matter.
