The body of a young man who went missing in a
marshland in Melandah upazila in the district was recovered today.
The victim was identified as Shafiqul Islam, 23, son of Azizur Rahman at
village Satani in Shreebordi upazila under Sherpur district.
According to Police Shafiqul Islam along with his friends went to Roumary
marshland at Kapash Hatiya village in Melandah upazila of the district for
travelling on Thursday. He with his friends was bathing in the marshland but
suddenly Shafiqul washed away and remained missing.
Being informed, Fire Service and Civil Defence rushed to the spot and
recovered the body at 11 am today.
A case was filed with Melandah Police Station in this connection.
