Humanity is a pious deed: Minister Gurung


Kathmandu: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has urged one and all to work for humane cause as it is the pious deed of one’s life.

At a programme organized by Manav Sewa Ashram, Lamjung, here today, Minister Gurung mentioned that one can get earn virtues by involving in humanitarian service as he/she can get true bliss from it. The Manav Sewa Ashram is a charity, having branches in different districts.

Stating that Manav Sewa Ashrams has a significant role in the campaign of achieving government’s goal of building Nepal as the nation of free of street-dependent people by 2082, the Minister stressed that the government wishes none of the citizens became helpless.

The Communications Minister reminded that he had announced Gandaki Province as the place free of street-dependent people when he was the Province’s Chief Minister.

Representatives of different organisations and individuals present in the programme expressed their commitment to providing financial assista
nce for the construction of the building for the charity.

On the occasion, coordinator of building construction committee of the charity in Lamjung, and former lawmaker Jamindra Man Ghale requested all for financial support as around Rs 50 million had already been invested in the building. However, additional budget is required to complete the building.

The construction of the building is expected to complete by April 2025.

A total of 1,718 people from different age-group have been taking shelter at 25 shelters of the charity in seven provinces including head office, Hetauda.

Today’s programme was organized here in a bid to collect funds for accomplishing the under-construction building of Manav Sewa Ashram, Lamjung.
