Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Joint
forces recovered 11.29 kgs of heroin and a one shotgun in two separate drives
in Chapainawabganj sadar upazila on Wednesday night.
RAB said, acting on detective information, an operation team of RAB-5
conducted a raid on the bank of the river Mohananda in Hujrapur Kazipara area
in Chapainawabganj municipality around 8.30 pm.
Sensing presence of the law enforcers, a bearer of the drugs fled away
leaving the heroin.
In another drive, joint forces comprising Bangladesh Army and RAB-5 conducted
a raid on the West bank of the river Mohananda at Rehaichar in
Chapainawabganj municipality around 9.30 pm last and seized 590 grams of
heroin and a one shotgun in an abandoned condition, RAB said.
The seized heroin and fire arm were deposited to Chapainawabganj sadar police
station, the sources added.
