Chairperson of Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh (NNJS), Prof Dr Chet Raj Pant has been elected on the International Agency for Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) Board of Trustees.
The results of online voting for the same were announced on Tuesday and over 250 IAPB member organizations across the world took part in the voting.
IAPB, the overarching alliance for the global eye health sector, comprises international charity organizations working in the area of eye health, eye hospitals, academic institutes, professional bodies, and corporate organizations as members of its alliance.
The NNJS has been its member for over a decade.
Twenty-eight eye hospitals, 160 eye treatment centers, and 44 district branches are operating under it. As the organization states its mission is to develop and provide a high-quality, sustainable, comprehensive, and affordable eye care service network in the country.
