Mechi: Exports of cardamom have increased by 60.1 percent as of mid-December in the current fiscal year 2025/26.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Mechi Customs Office data reveals that cardamom worth Rs 5.533 billion was exported during this period.
Information Officer at the Office, Ishwor Kumar Humagain, informed that a total of 2622.10 metric tons of cardamom were exported during the five months. He shared that in the same period of the earlier fiscal year 2024/25, cardamom exports totaled Rs 3.456 billion.
As per the official data, the export of tea during the five months of the current fiscal year decreased by 31.40 percent.
