Doha: Executive Chairman of the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), Dharmendra Jha, and high-level officials of the Qatar News Agency (QNA) have held discussions on news exchanges. Chairman Jha, who is currently in Qatar to attend the Doha Forum, visited the head office of QNA and discussed issues relating to news exchanges.
According to National News Agency Nepal, both sides expressed commitment to making the agreement between the two news agencies on the exchange of news more effective. Director of News Department at QNA, Yusuf Yakub, and Assistant Director of Department of Law at QNA, Amna Ahad Al Hamaidi, received Chairman Jha in their office.
The QNA officials stated that visits and related training could further strengthen the relations between the two state-owned news agencies. “It is a matter of happiness for RSS to have an agreement with QNA. RSS has expected assistance from QNA for the latter is equipped technologically,” Jha observed.
A memorandum of understanding regarding the exchange of news content between RSS and QNA was signed on April 24, 2024, during the official visit of the King of Qatar to Nepal.
