Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has announced that the government has initiated a robust cleanup drive against corruption. She made these remarks while receiving a memorandum from the Jay Matribhumi Party on Thursday. PM Karki emphasized that political parties should focus on tangible production rather than merely delivering speeches. She urged the Party to actively participate in elections and work towards the welfare of the people.
According to National News Agency Nepal, PM Karki expressed her concern over the failure of political parties to create employment opportunities, which has adversely affected the national economy and contributed to the exodus of youth seeking jobs abroad. She highlighted the need to address public disenchantment and stressed that the time has come to improve the situation.
The Prime Minister further encouraged the delegation to propose schemes for economic prosperity and good governance through success in the upcoming election scheduled for March 5. She remarked that good governance initiatives from various sectors of society could bring about significant change.
Leaders of the Jay Matribhumi Party, including Captain KB Limbu, Ramsharan Pande, Govinda Giri, and others, called for stringent action against those involved in suppressing the September 8-9 Gen Z movement and engaging in corrupt practices.
