Kathmandu: The floods triggered by incessant rainfall throughout the country since October 3 (Friday) night have so far claimed the lives of 60 people, the Armed Police Force (APF) stated. Among the deceased are 19 men, 26 women, and 15 children, APF’s Associate Spokesperson, DSP Shailendra Thapa informed.
According to National News Agency Nepal, a total of 37 persons, including 13 men, 14 women, and 10 children, lost their lives in Ilam alone. The monsoon-induced disaster incidents also took the lives of eight people in Panchthar, three each in Udayapur and Rautahat, two in Khotang, and one each in Sunsari, Morang, Sindhuli, and Mahottari. Additionally, a minor was killed in a disaster incident in Sindhupalchowk, while two women were found dead in Kavrepalanchowk.
