Dharan: Chairperson of the Shram Sanskriti Party and Mayor of Dharan sub-metropolis, Harka Raj Rai (Sampang), emphasized the importance of labour culture in the development of a nation. At a programme organized by the party’s Dharan municipal committee on Wednesday, he stated that respect for workers is crucial for national prosperity.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Chair Sampang highlighted that the country has not progressed as expected due to a lack of respect for labour. He asserted that no work is inherently small or big and that all forms of work are essential. “The labour culture can only guarantee the country’s prosperity,” he remarked, urging respect for all workers and predicting that the nation will see a “prime minister of workers” after the coming election.
Chair Sampang elaborated on the definition of a worker, stating, “A worker is not just someone who works with stones, shovels, and pebbles. All people who earn a living by doing physical labour are workers. We all are workers.” He concluded that societal and national advancement is contingent upon respecting labour.
The event was attended by drivers, workers, representatives of social organizations, and party members.
