Devotees Urged to Avoid Ornaments While Paying Homage to Pashupatinath Temple

Kathmandu: The Nepal Police has issued a 13-point advisory to devotees visiting the Pashupatinath temple for the Mahashivaratri festival, emphasizing their security.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, spokesperson for the District Police Range Kathmandu, urged devotees not to wear ornaments or carry valuable items during their visit to the temple. This precaution is advised to prevent incidents of theft and robbery.

The Kathmandu Police has also requested devotees to refrain from using prohibited items such as plastic bags, cups, and plates within the temple premises. Additionally, devotees are encouraged to contribute to maintaining cleanliness in the area and to assist physically-challenged individuals and senior citizens in offering their worship.

Devotees are also advised to be vigilant against pickpockets and to seek assistance from health camps if any health issues arise. This year, there will be no special tickets or passes for temple visits, so attendees are requested to queue systematically to enter the temple.
