Election Commission Prints 18.2 Million Ballot Papers for House of Representatives Polls


Kathmandu: As of now, the Election Commission has printed ballot papers for 142 electoral constituencies across 66 districts.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the total number of ballot papers printed stands at 18,230,000. The printing includes ballots for numerous districts such as Dolpa, Mugu, Kalikot, Humla, Jajarkot, Dailekh, Rukum (West), Salyan, Surkhet, Bajura, and many others.



Till Friday, ballot papers for 63 districts had been printed, and today, printing was completed for an additional three districts. The operation is being carried out at the Janak Education Materials Centre (JEMC) in Sanothimi, Bhaktapur, with a daily output of approximately 1.5 million ballot papers.



Ballot papers for 23 constituencies in 11 districts, including those in and around the Kathmandu Valley, are still to be printed. The Election Commission expects to complete the entire printing process within the next couple of days. In parallel, 20,830,000 ballot papers have been printed for the proportional representation electoral system, while 20,323,000 are to be printed for the first-past-the-post system.



The Election Commission has already dispatched ballot papers for 12 electoral constituencies of 10 districts in the Karnali region, including Salyan, Rukum West, Dolpa, Mugu, Humla, Kalikot, Jumla, Jajarkot, Dailekh, and Surkhet, as confirmed by Assistant Spokesperson Prakash Neupane.
