Kathmandu: The Election Commission (EC) has today released the final voter list for the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) election scheduled for March 5. The latest update sees an addition of 915,119 new voters to the rolls.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the EC’s Spokesperson, Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, revealed that the total number of voters now stands at 18,903,689. This includes 9,663,358 men, 9,240,131 women, and approximately 200 others. The updated electoral roll is available on the EC’s official website.
Spokesperson Bhattarai explained that the voter list was finalized in compliance with Section 20 of the Voter List Act, 2016. The update includes citizens who will reach the age of 18 by March 4, following the Voter List Updating Procedure, 2081 BS.
For the forthcoming HoR election, the EC has designated 23,112 polling centers across 10,967 polling stations nationwide.
