Kathmandu: Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba has left here for China today. She embarked on her first official visit to China since her appointment, following a friendly invitation from Chinese Minister for Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi. Officiating Secretary at Foreign Ministry, Amrit Bahadur Rai, along with other Ministry officials, bid farewell to Minister Dr Rana at Tribhuvan International Airport.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Dr Rana is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with her Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, in Chengdu city, Sichuan Province, China, on Friday. This visit is part of the preparation for Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s forthcoming visit to China. PM Oli is set to begin his official trip to China next week, while Foreign Minister Rana is expected to return home on November 30.
