Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has stated that the government has intensified efforts towards good governance alongside its election targets. In her speech at a programme held at the PM’s office in Singha Durbar on the occasion of the 22nd International Anti-Corruption Day, PM Karki emphasized the government’s commitment to curbing corruption.
According to National News Agency Nepal, PM Karki highlighted that the current government, which was established with the support of the Gen Z movement advocating for good governance, cannot overlook the importance of combating corrupt practices. She acknowledged that achieving the goals set by Gen Z might take time, but assured that the government remains steadfast in implementing stringent measures against corruption.
PM Karki also addressed concerns about elements that might be intimidated by the anti-corruption drive, stating that she would not be deterred by threats. She encouraged government officials to not feel anxious but to exercise their professional freedoms to the fullest in pursuit of good governance.
