Lalitpur: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Devendra Dahal, has announced that the flyover construction at Gwarko, Lalitpur, will be completed by mid-June. During his inspection of the project site this morning, Minister Dahal emphasized that no further delays will be tolerated in the completion of the construction work. He mentioned that, unless unforeseen circumstances arise, the flyover should be ready for vehicle operations by mid-June.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Secretary at the Ministry, Keshab Kumar Sharma, stated that some technical issues had been identified during construction but have since been resolved. This development is expected to facilitate the timely completion of the project and ease traffic congestion in the area.
Ramhari Pokharel, Director General of the Department of Roads, highlighted the project’s importance for improving traffic management in the Kathmandu Valley. The completion of the flyover is anticipated to significantly enhance the flow of vehicles, alleviating the current traffic challenges faced by commuters.
The Department of Roads reported that the major construction work on the project has now been completed. Initially, the project, with a budget of Rs 176 million, was scheduled for completion by February 23, 2024. However, the deadline was not met, prompting the revised completion target of mid-June.
