Bhairahawa: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has conducted an on-site observation of the under-construction integrated check post along Bhairahawa-Belhiya in Siddhartha Municipality of Rupandehi and visited the Armed Police Force’s Border Security Battalion in Danda. The visit was strategically timed before the province-level security workshop scheduled to commence in Lumbini Province on Tuesday.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Home Ministry secretariat reported that the construction of the check post has reached a physical progress of 79 percent and a financial progress of 77 percent. During his visit, Minister Aryal assessed the overall border security situation at the APF’s border security battalion in Bhairahwa.
Minister Aryal, accompanied by Ministry Secretary Rameswor Dangal, Inspector General of Nepal Police Dan Bahadur Karki, and Inspector General of the Armed Police Force Raju Aryal, among others, emphasized the need to monitor and prevent potential unintended activities along the Nepal-India border. He instructed authorities to address revenue leakage issues and ensure the smooth movement of Nepali citizens, while being vigilant against any undue treatment they might face at the border.
Furthermore, the Home Minister directed the District Security chief to intensify efforts in preventing cross-border illicit trafficking and other unintended activities, reinforcing the government’s commitment to enhancing border security.
