Kathmandu: Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, was taken ill during a hiking excursion on Saturday afternoon and was rescued by the Nepali Army.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Indian Ambassador was evacuated using a Nepali Army helicopter and subsequently admitted to the Grande Hospital in Kathmandu. Ambassador Srivastava had reportedly fallen unconscious while hiking on the Champadevi hill, situated to the south of the Kathmandu Valley.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Abhi Narayan Kafle, spokesperson for Nepal Police, confirmed the rescue operation, stating that the Ambassador was quickly transported to the hospital for medical attention. DIG Kafle further shared that Ambassador Srivastava is currently receiving treatment, and his health condition is showing signs of improvement.
