Kathmandu: The renowned Indian company SG, famed for its cricket equipment production, has committed to supplying all cricket equipment for one year to Nepali all-rounder cricketer Gulshan Jha. This sponsorship initiative marks a significant collaboration, facilitated by Himalayan Willow, a prominent distributor of cricket equipment in the capital and other regions of Nepal.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Pradeep Yadav, Chief Executive Officer of Himalayan Willow, confirmed that all necessary materials, including six cricket bats and ten gloves needed for a year, will be provided to cricketer Jha free of charge. This sponsorship by a globally recognised manufacturing company is the first of its kind for Nepali cricket, setting a precedent for future collaborations.
At the sponsorship event, cricketer Jha expressed his excitement, stating that using SG equipment has been a long-held dream since his childhood. This opportunity not only supports Jha’s cricketing endeavors but also highlights SG’s commitment to nurturing cricketing talent across borders.
Chief Executive Officer Yadav further revealed that the organisation is actively working towards securing a similar sponsorship deal for a female cricketer, showcasing their dedication to promoting gender equality in sports sponsorships.
