Kathmandu: The Third International Transport Conference-2025 is set to take place from April 11 to 13 under the theme “Towards Safe, Sustainable, Efficient and Resilient Mobility”. The event, organized by the Society of Transport Engineers Nepal, aims to gather insights and feedback for developing policies that ensure sustainable and safe transportation systems.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the conference will focus on initiatives to improve public transport systems, making them more accessible, effective, and environmentally friendly. Dr. Hareram Shrestha, the Chair of the organizing body, emphasized that the event will explore the latest research, innovations, and developments in the transport sector. The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Management and the Ministry of Urban Development are co-organizing the event, which will gather scholars, professionals, and experts from various fields.
The conference aims to explore ways to achieve safe and resilient transport and mobility through collective efforts. Participants will engage in detailed discussions to identify strategies for comprehensive reform in the transport sector. The use of Artificial Intelligence in promoting smart transport systems, developing resilient infrastructure, and creating transport systems capable of withstanding climate change impacts and other disasters are key objectives of the event, as stated by Dr. Shrestha.
Organizers believe that the conference will be pivotal in determining a course towards a safe, sustainable, effective, and resilient transport system and mobility, contributing significantly to future advancements in the sector.
