Kathmandu: An information technology centre has been established at Dhulikhel-based Kathmandu University. It is expected that the centre would promote research, innovation, and digital stability. The University has also brought a mobile app ‘KU-Connect’ into operation along with the IT centre.
According to National News Agency Nepal, KU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Achyut Wagle stated that a research and ethical framework would be developed to operate a ‘supercomputing cluster’ for complex research, implement the National AI Policy, and develop a research and ethical framework that uses local data. Additionally, a support system is planned to be developed for emergency situations like earthquakes, pandemics, and floods.
The mobile app developed by KU will provide students access to information relating to educational, administrative, and campus activities. It includes various features such as student profile management, information and news about KU, results and program details, course lists, fee details, payment records, and certificates, among others, he added.
