Kathmandu: The final preparations for the Janakpurdham Literature, Arts, and International Drama Festival-2082 BS, set to commence on February 15, are now in full swing, the organizer said. During a press conference held today, Jeevanath Chaudhary, the Chairman of the Maithili Development Trust, announced that the preparations for the festival’s fifth edition have reached the final phase.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the event is being organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Madhesh Province in collaboration with the Trust and Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City. Chairman Chaudhary stated that the festival will feature extensive discussions on 20 topics, including arts, literature, politics, social and economic issues, and history, alongside exhibitions showcasing paintings, books, and Mithila cuisines.
Scholars from both Nepal and India, along with singers and drama troupes, are expected to grace the festival. The Trust has consistently honored language, literature, culture, and arts. The festival’s highlights will include cultural parades with tableaux, an inauguration ceremony, public speaking contests at schools, poetry recitals, folk dance competitions, Mithila painting contests, workshops and exhibitions on Mithila painting, theatrical performances, and various other cultural events.
