Kathmandu: Eleven people were injured when a jeep carrying employees of Tamankhola rural municipality encountered a road accident in Baglung. The incident occurred as the vehicle, en route from Bongadovan bazaar to Baraha pond, suffered a brake failure.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the injured include Assistant Administrative Officer Muna BK, 30, of Galkot municipality-1, Assistant Accountant Sudarshan Kusari, 32, of Bafikot rural municipality-6 in Rukum West, Office Assistant Sachin BK, 29, of Tamankhola rural municipality-2, and Technical Assistant Nabin Malla, 23, of Chaurjahari municipality-13 in Rukum West. In addition, former Vice-Chairperson of the rural municipality, Mansari Sherchan, 52, Indra Kumari Giri, 63, Basanti Magar, 25, and jeep driver Sushil Rasaili were also injured.
Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Baglung, Bijay Yadav, reported that the conditions of Assistant Administrative Officer BK and Technical Assistant Malla are critical, prompting their transfer to Dhaulagiri Provincial Hospital in Baglung. The other injured individuals are receiving treatment at Burtibang Hospital.
