Joining Government Not a Priority, Says Prachanda

Chitwan: The CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has stated that his party has not prioritized joining the government. Speaking to the media in Chitwan, Prachanda clarified that while his party is critical of the government’s performance, it does not imply that they are eager to become part of it.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Prachanda emphasized that the current government is not functioning well and that their criticisms should not be misinterpreted as a desire to join its ranks. He remarked, “We should not interpret as if we are willing to join the government while raising issues about the government’s performance. We are not expecting to join the government. We are not concerned about this.”

Prachanda also announced plans for the Maoist Centre to resume its party strengthening campaign along the Mid-Hill Highway after a month. This campaign aims to introduce new agendas following a central committee meeting. He stressed the importance of listening to the people’s voices over the government’s, stating, “The campaign is being resumed to address the people’s concerns.”

Furthermore, Prachanda highlighted that the party remains united and committed to implementing the decisions made during the recently concluded standing committee meeting. In a separate matter, he called for the acceleration of construction works at the Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium in Bharatpur.
