Kathmandu: Ishwor Pokharel, a contender for the post of UML Chairperson in the 11th National Congress, has suggested that the newly elected leadership run the party in a right and democratic manner, adhering to collective leadership, rule, and system.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Pokharel gave his initial reaction to the re-election of KP Sharma Oli as UML Chairperson. He emphasized the importance of the debates raised during the National Congress, highlighting the need for the party to be governed by the principles of checks and balances and people’s multi-party democracy. He stressed that these principles must continue to guide the party.
Pokharel extended congratulations and best wishes to all the elected leaders. Despite his defeat in the election, he reaffirmed his commitment to the democratic movement and socialism.
