Kathmandu: A delegation from the Jay Matribhumi Party met with Prime Minister Sushila Karki to submit a memorandum emphasizing the need for good governance over electoral power dynamics. The meeting took place on Thursday, with the party highlighting the importance of addressing governance issues to ensure a fair and conducive environment for upcoming elections.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the delegation included senior leader Captain KB Limbu, Co-Chairman Ram Sharan Pandey, and General Secretary Govinda Giri. The party urged the government to take immediate action against those hindering the Gen Z movement and to address corruption to create a favorable atmosphere for conducting elections.
During the meeting, PM Karki encouraged the party to participate in the elections with its own agenda and assured them of ongoing efforts to combat corruption. She expressed her concerns about the current political climate, noting that many politicians focus on rhetoric rather than addressing domestic production issues. PM Karki highlighted the growing disenchantment among the youth as a catalyst for protests and stressed the importance of establishing conditions where protests are no longer necessary. She urged the party to field capable leaders in the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5.
