Kathmandu: A team comprising Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Anil Kumar Sinha, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel, and Political Advisor to the Prime Minister Ajay Bhadra Khanal inspected the damaged central party office of the Nepali Congress.
According to National News Agency Nepal, after the inspection, Minister Sinha emphasized the need for political parties to contribute to providing a political outlet for the country. He highlighted the current crisis and the focus on the upcoming election, urging political parties to share their expectations and suggestions on the environment the government should establish.
Minister Kharel noted that the government has been working to facilitate the election to the House of Representatives. He mentioned ongoing dialogues between the government and major political parties, with the Nepali Congress participating actively in these discussions. Kharel assured that the government is striving to create a fair and trustworthy election environment.
He further stated that discussions with all stakeholders are ongoing to ensure a conducive election atmosphere. Expressing sorrow over the damages to the NC party office during the Gen Z protest, Kharel mentioned their visit aimed to assess reconstruction needs as per Prime Minister Sushila Karki’s directives.
NC Vice-President Dhan Raj Gurung welcomed the ministers and underscored the importance of an impartial election. Joint General-Secretary Badri Prasad Pandey and Treasurer Umesh Shrestha briefed the team on the damages caused during the Gen Z protest.
