Muktinath Area Set for Transformation into Religious Tourism Hub

Muktinath: Various stakeholders have highlighted the need for developing the Muktinath area as a comprehensive religious tourism site. Chief District Officer Bishnu Prasad Bhusal stated that initiatives would be taken to extend the stay of tourists visiting the Muktinath temple.

According to National News Agency Nepal, an 11-member team led by CDO Bhusal visited the Muktinath area on Saturday to further explore opportunities for promoting religious tourism. Bhusal emphasized the importance of constructing a trekking route about four kilometers long to connect the temple with three other religious heritage sites in the area.

He mentioned that the Muktinath Development Committee, along with local residents, would spearhead the construction of the trekking route. The team conducted a preliminary feasibility study to assess the potential of linking alternative religious heritage sites with tourism, aiming to enhance the area’s appeal as a religious tourism destination.
