Mustang Administration Urges Trekkers to Avoid High Mountain Trails Due to Heavy Snowfall Forecast


Mustang: The District Administration Office, Mustang, has issued a cautionary notice urging trekkers to avoid trekking in high mountain areas within the district. This advisory comes in light of a weather forecast from the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology predicting unfavorable conditions until Wednesday.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the Department has predicted light to heavy snowfall in several areas, including the Yakkharka area at an altitude of 5,800 meters in Mustang and Dolpa districts. Other affected regions include Thorang-la pass and Saribung pass in Manang and Mustang districts, as well as Dhampus peak along the Dhaulagiri trekking route in Mustang and Myagdi districts.



Chief District Officer of Mustang, Bishnu Prasad Bhusal, issued a notice advising all trekkers to refrain from venturing along these routes due to the predicted adverse weather conditions. The administration also advised tourists and pilgrims in the district to stay informed about weather forecasts and exercise utmost caution during their travels.
