Nagdhunga-Naubise Road Closure to Impact Daily Commuters for Four Hours

Nagdhunga: The Nagdhunga-Naubise road, a crucial entry point to the Kathmandu Valley, will be closed for vehicular movement for four and a half hours daily starting today. This closure is set to last until June 8, as officials from the Narayangadh-Muglin Road Project (eastern section) coordinate construction efforts along the Nagdhunga-Pipalamod section.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the decision to close the road section for specific hours each day aims to facilitate ongoing construction activities. Chief District Officer of Kathmandu, Rishiram Tiwari, confirmed that the closure is necessary to ease the construction process under the Narayangadh-Muglin road section. The road will be inaccessible to traffic from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm daily.

During the closure period, vehicles traveling out of Kathmandu will be temporarily halted at Nagdhunga, while those entering Kathmandu from Naubise will be stopped at Khanikhola. Traffic police have advised travelers to consider alternative routes, such as Dharke-Sitapaila and Tokha-Chahare-Trishuli-Galchi, to mitigate the impact of the closure on their travel plans.
