NC and UML Collaborate Amid National Crises

Bhaktapur: CPN (UML) senior vice-chairman Ishwar Pokharel recently highlighted the ongoing collaboration between the Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN (UML) during a time of crisis in the country. Speaking at a program organized by the UML’s sister organizations in Bhaktapur, Pokharel emphasized that the current government alliance between NC and UML is a continuation of their historical cooperation.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Pokharel characterized the NC and UML not merely as political parties but as foundational political pillars that unite during national emergencies. He described the present alliance as a testament to their collaborative efforts, noting that the NC and communist forces have historically engaged in both cooperation and competition. This relationship has led to alliances aimed at addressing challenges and contesting elections.

Pokharel recalled past collaborative efforts, including their joint fight against the Rana regime, monarchy, and their role in promulgating the constitution in 2015. He also mentioned that both parties are gearing up to compete in the upcoming elections, signaling a continuation of their dual strategy of cooperation and competition.
