Deukhuri (Dang): CPN-UML general secretary Shanker Pokharel stressed the need to preserve culture so as to strengthen the country.
At the greetings exchange programme hosted by UMl district committee Dang on Saturday, he said Dashain is the festival of family reunion and harmony.
It has connected the urban and rural areas, he said, adding the festival has encouraged people to return to their villages.
The general secretary stressed the need to develop strong political parties rather not several parties.
The country has witnessed economic recession due to vested interests of the leaders, he accused.
