Lalitpur: The 52nd National Conference and General Assembly of Nepal Jaycees has commenced in Janakpurdham. The event was inaugurated by the Mayor of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City, Manoj Saha, who emphasized the pivotal role of the Jaycees in fostering youth leadership development, social service, and instigating positive societal change.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the conference, which will take place at Tirahutiya Gachhi in Janakpurdham until December 22, is expected to see the participation of over 5,000 representatives from 186 branches of the Jaycees across Nepal. Director Sudhir Pajiyar highlighted that the conference will feature various leadership development activities, including oratory contests, theme seminars, and the National Assembly.
The conference is seen as a significant event for advancing youth leadership development and enhancing national-level networks. Historically, the first convention of Nepal Jaycees was held in Janakpurdham in 1977 under President Laxmi Bahadur Nirala and Managing Director Sitaram Sikariya. Subsequent conventions took place in 1993, 2003, and 2018 under different leaderships.
It has been indicated that the current convention will deliberate on the organization’s future strategies, leadership selections, and social initiatives.
