Nepal-Sri Lanka Chambers Sign Cooperation Agreement


Kathmandu: The Nepal Chamber of Commerce and the National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka have entered into a memorandum of understanding to enhance bilateral trade relations through the exchange of business delegations. The agreement seeks to broaden mutual trade and investment, establish industries, and explore opportunities for joint investment between the two countries.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the MoU is anticipated to provide a platform for mutual exchanges and create a favorable environment for participation in trade fairs and business forums. The agreement also outlines that representatives from the Nepal Chamber of Commerce will study the economic recovery of Sri Lanka.



A press statement issued by the Nepal Chamber of Commerce highlighted that the MoU aims to foster cooperation between the two organizations in trade, investment, industrial, and service sectors. Key figures who witnessed the signing ceremony included Nepal’s Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Dr. Purna Nepali, President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Kamalesh Kumar Agrawal, and President of Sri Lanka’s National Chamber of Exporters, Indra Kaushal Rajapaksa.



The document papers were signed by Nepal Chamber of Commerce’s Vice President, Arjun Prasad Sharma, and General Secretary of Sri Lanka’s National Chamber of Exporters, Shiham Marikar.
