Kathmandu: The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has urged different diplomatic missions based in Nepal to relax travel advisories issued by various countries for their citizens to visit Nepal. During a ‘Meet and Greet with Diplomatic Corps’ organised in Kathmandu on the occasion of Dashain, Chief Executive Officer of NTB, Deepak Raj Joshi, shared that Nepal has now returned to normalcy and it is completely safe for tourists to visit.
According to National News Agency Nepal, earlier advisories were issued by different embassies in Kathmandu, cautioning their citizens to follow safety measures while visiting Nepal after the Gen-Z protests held on September 8 and 9. Ambassadors and representatives of more than 15 countries, as well as high-ranking officials of the government of Nepal, were present at the programme organised on the eve of World Tourism Day.
Joshi emphasized that there is no issue with political stability and security and noted that tourist police have returned to their service. He further mentioned that roads, airports, transport services, and hospitals have resumed their operations following the formation of the new government. Joshi also called for collective efforts to positively impact Nepal’s tourism image in the international community.
Similarly, NTB Vice-President Ram Prasad Sapkota stated that Nepal is ready to welcome tourists and urged diplomats to communicate messages to their countries affirming that Nepal is open and safe for visitors.
