Dhaka: Bangladesh assistant coach Nic Pothas has resigned from his position, stating his desire to spend more time with his family. Pothas made the announcement through a post on his social media outlet, signaling the end of his tenure with the Bangladesh cricket setup.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Pothas expressed gratitude for his time with the team, mentioning achievements and memories made during his tenure. He wrote, “Like all good things, this too must come to an end. I’ve had an amazing time with some great people while with @bcb_tigers_official. We’ve broken many records along the way, made history, and created amazing memories.”
Pothas also conveyed his hopes for the future, stating, “Now it’s time to spend some quality time at home and see what the next chapter holds. I wish everyone at Bangladesh Cricket the very best for an exciting year ahead. I’ll miss you.”
BCB Cricket Operations in-charge Shahriar Nafees confirmed Pothas’s resignation, mentioning that it was due to family reasons. Nafees disclosed that Pothas’s contract was originally set to run until 2026, but his resignation became effective on December 20 of the previous year.
