10-Day BSCIC Entrepreneurs Fair Concludes with a Focus on Economic Growth

Khulna: A 10-day BSCIC Entrepreneurs Fair-2025 concluded today with a focus on enhancing the region’s economic conditions through the promotion of its industrial sector. The event was organized by the district office of the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) at their premises near Shibbari crossing.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the fair showcased a range of locally produced industrial goods, such as leather, jute-made products, processed agricultural items, electrical and electronic goods, clothing, design and fashion wares. A total of 35 stalls were set up to display these products.

The closing ceremony was attended by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Saiful Islam as the chief guest, with BSCIC Manager Tahera Nasin presiding over the event. BSCIC Deputy General Manager Golam Saklain, along with entrepreneurs Yeasin Arafat Tipu and Minara Shirin, also spoke at the ceremony.

Deputy Commissioner Saiful Islam highlighted the significance of handlooms and cottage goods, describing them as symbols of the craftsmanship of Bangladeshi artisans. He noted that many artisan communities across the country rely on their crafts as a primary source of income and emphasized the importance of hosting more such fairs to protect these goods from further decline.

He further stated that additional investment in this sector is crucial to improving the economic conditions of both urban and rural areas and to breaking the cycle of poverty. BSCIC Deputy General Manager Golam Saklain added that the fair aimed to increase the visibility of handloom and cottage industrial goods by preserving and encouraging the practices of local artisans.

At the conclusion of the event, three entrepreneurs who excelled at the fair received crests and certificates, while representatives from each stall were awarded certificates.
