Kathmandu: Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, has highlighted the significance of the RSS Photo Book, a publication by the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), in promoting Nepal’s rich natural, cultural, and historic heritage through photography. Minister Pandey, while receiving the publication titled “The RSS Photo Book: The 16 Years of the Republic” from the RSS top management at the Ministry, expressed optimism that the book would further aid in boosting Nepal’s tourism sector.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Minister emphasized that the book serves as a testament to the significant transformations occurring in the country, countering narratives that suggest “nothing significant has happened in Republic Nepal.” He extended his gratitude to the RSS photojournalists, employees, management, and the entire RSS family for their efforts in producing this impactful work. Minister Pandey also pledged continued cooperation, both personally and officially, for the publication’s second edition and its distribution to a wider audience, including international circles.
During the book handover ceremony, RSS Executive Chair Dharmendra Jha urged the Ministry and its subordinate bodies to collaborate with RSS in republishing the book. He stated that the book effectively counters narratives that no positive developments have taken place in the country. Featuring 182 photos taken by 90 journalists, the book reflects Nepal’s caste, language, geographical, religious, and cultural diversities, as well as the latest infrastructure developments.
The publication of the RSS Photo Book coincides with the 64th anniversary of RSS. The event was also attended by RSS General Manager Siddharaj Rai and RSS Chief Administrator Sheetal Prasad.
